Last weekend, i played board games with my friends. Well, instead of hanging out in some cafe or mall, we’d better played several round of board games.
I bought a new game, Carcassone, published by Rio Grande Games.

I already tested the rules with Meirza the day before. So i played
it on Friday with Meirza, Ardhana, Tara, and Odit. The game’s about drawing tiles that shape the board (so the board’s modular). Each tiles are either river, street, castle, or monastery. And there are Meeples (Mini people) which can be Thief if it’s placed on the street, Knight if it’s placed on castle (unfinished town), Monk if it’s placed on monastery, and Farm if it’s placed on the
green area.
It was fun! everyone wouldn’t let each other finished the towns, castles, or monasteries. Everytime one of us started a new town, it would be ended as soon as possible. I was the winner most of the time, of course hehehe. And on Saturday, Meirza, now with another newbie Baska, and I played it again.
Baska seem didn’t fond of Carcassonne though, he prefer Dust, a wargame we (Meirza, Ardhana, Tara, Baska, and I ) played on Sunday.

Dust is a light weight wargame, a Risk-type game with dices for combats. There are initiation phase, reinforcement phase, tactical phase (move phase), and attack phase, with cards that limit all of the phases. We have to chose what card we will use first. The first turn depends on which one of the player have the most attack phase points, then the move points, then the stars as a tie breaker. Except for one card named Koshka, which have special ability to choose turn (example: if I want to go first, then i’ll go first. If i want to be the second, then i’ll go after the first turn).
We played 3 rounds in a row.. about 6 hours non-stop! First game won by Meirza, I won the second game, and Baska won the last game (newbie learns! LOL).
Well, now i feel a little bit of regret for playing board games the entire weekend, instead of finishing my final assignment. but hey, i sure got a lot of fun!!
